The table

Everyone eats
at the same table.

There's a kitchen, and whoever is here eats from it. Guests, day visitors, whoever showed up that morning.

Argentine tradition.Empanadas with chimichurri, milanesas napolitanas, and an asado on the grill when there are enough of us.
Mexican kitchen.Tacos, guacamole, ceviche, and whatever the fishermen brought in that morning.
And a bit of everywhere else.Pasta, hummus, curries, Spanish tortilla. Whoever cooks brings their country to the table.

Getting here

Twenty-five kilometres
north of town.

El Placer, km 25.5 on the coastal highway between Mahahual and Xcalak. Twenty-seven minutes from the Costa Maya cruise port.

Take the paved highway, not the dirt coastal road. Google Maps will try to send you along the coast — don't. Tell your driver: "Pronoia Casa de Playa, El Placer km 25.5, by the paved highway." Look for the sign that says Self Care is the Best Investment.

There's no phone signal for part of the drive. There is parking when you arrive.
